It's bright luminous orange in a corrally sort of way and its living on a dead buddleia glommorata log one or two of which I left lying around in an arty farty sort of way. Most of them have rotted away now. The photo is pretty c@@p . I will try to get a better one with a real camera
OK guys. in the interest of peace, harmony and science, I have gone past the patio and braved whatever might bite me in the gloaming or even less painful places.
Here is another pic. From a perspective point of view, the little blue flowers are what remains of forget-me-nots after I did for them this afternoon. The long leaves are what remains of Spanish bluebells that I haven't got to yet.

He's not that big. The fungus is very small! And he's still alive for the moment. Didn't get around to going out with the scissors of death yet.
