Tried and tested solar lights

CloggieCloggie Posts: 1,455

I've had several sets of solar lights that I've not paid much money for and now I want to spend a bit more but get some that are effective and will last.  Does anyone have experience of a good product?

Thanks,

TT

I must admit I have the same problem!! I used to buy the cheaper ones and they'd only last a year. ...two year ago I went to a shop called b and m stores and they had some lovely ornate ones and lovely white cherup ones (I care for mum and she loves cherups) and some I got a couple of lovely crystal effect ones and they have lasted 2 years now and wasn't too much dearer...still have the same brightness. ....I was impressed with them and the fact they wasn't pricey........good luck on your hunt! !!

Thanks Lisey.  Funnily enough my Mum brought me one from B&Ms in the shape of a watering can but that too has died.

Oh that's not good, guess it's pot luck  :(.....hopefully someone has some that last and can let you know where to get them.  Good luck

  • Lisey2013 I have solar lights in the garden, 2 were expensive approx E20.00 each they are large lanterns with 4ft spikes have them two years and this year changed the batteries are still working. I bought them in HomeStore&More don't know if the shop chain are in the UK? Also recently bought some small glass ones in Lidl E4.99 which are nice I put them up on a climbing rose which is on a pergola leading to a part of my garden. The batteries need to be changed every 12 months bear that in mind.

    Good luck

No I agree, that cheap is good if it works but I wondered what people's experience of expensive ones was because I've never used dearer ones but if they aren't much better then give me cheap and chuck every time!
