any idea what this is?
it pops up everywhere on my large raised bed. presumably used to be a veg raised bed but is now my rockery and strawberry patch. pops up all over the place in little bits.
i normally just dig it out but now its popping up in my strawberries and is not as easy to get down to its root, not that there ever is much root

That, my dear, is mares tail/horse tail/your worst nightmare!! Get it quick before it takes hold. Do a search of this site (top right) for all and every solution.
oh that's most definitely a superweed!! - horsetail, its a pain in the backside to remove, was it there before your raised bed as you may have brought it in on the fill.
when i moved it it was a mud bath raised bed, i have since put my japanese rockery in and plants and strawberries. i also get the odd potato leaf popping up
this weed has always been present i just constantly dig out the best i can but rarely get it to the root
seems ill just have to keep digging at it
ok dont really pull or dig out is the info, maybe use roundup tree stump treatment
the stuff that comes out of cracks i normally just burn
