Hi Team, I have been passed on this plant. I was given it as a Clematis but it has done nothing more than produce small fluffy yellow 'flowers' in May. Can anyone give me its true name
Is it entwined with the other foliage in the middle? That looks like something that's already growing there, or perhaps it was growing in with the clematis. It might even be a tree/shrub that's seeded in there as opposed to being planted. I can't ID it I'm afraid but someone else will.
You might have to carefully remove it to allow the clematis to grow properly. That could be tricky if they're very close to each other.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

The tree sapling on the left looks like a willow, probably goat willow. I can see a clematis leaf on the right and if it has yellow flowers it may be tangutica "Bill Mackenzie".
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
