Hi

Can you please identify these plants? I saw them today in St James's Park in London. The 2nd and 3rd photos are the same thing, just closer up.

Many thanks

Hi there. The pink one is Silene dioica and the blue one is green alkanet. The white flower looks like white valerian and there is an orange wallflower in your last picture too

Hi Ladybird, thank you for quick response.  My garden lacks spring colour after daffodils have died so your help is much appreciated!

I think it's too early for valerian and that's possibly a white honesty. That would go with the habitat, the other 3 are shade plants, valerian likes the sun.

I can see some solomons seal in the as well

The blue flower is green alkanet. Pretty but a thug, plant with warning

Hi nutcutlet. That makes sense. I couldn't quite make out the white flower shape and I was rather dubious about the leaves.

Yes the alkanet can take over your entire garden id class it as a weed tbh. It's difficult to eradicate as well

Thank you very much everyone. Can you good people suggest alternative spring flowering perennials that will not get out of control please?
