This is what my garden looked like last year. It is a lot of hard work, as it has all been done by my own fair hands, the planting of course. Hopefully this year it will look even better with the amount of seeds I had planted for the summer.

The only sadness will be that my little girl in the photo will not be able to enjoy it. Sadly we lost her on valentines day this year. She was such a sweet little thing, and it took her years to feel comfortable to even walk on the grass. I still have another little cat that loves to come out in the garden with me, so hopefully we can enjoy it together with our own special memories.

Another beautiful pic Jacqueline and lovely memories too. I've been chronicling the antics of my labs on Ranters. These pets put you through it don't they? A cat has adopted me...I'm more a dog person really, but she comes evey evening to have a wee snack and I see she has started leaving me pressies. image I feel very priveleged....and a little bit sick. image

Thanks plant pauper, yes they certainly do. I love dogs as well, that does sound lovely though that a cat has adopted you. My two (now one) are mainly indoor cats, and they will only go out if I am in the garden. If I happen to come indoors for anything, they follow me back inside. So lovely and a rare thing to happen as cats are so independent. I feel like Dr Doolittle sometimes. image

Lots of my garden pictures have cats or (worse!) bits of cat in themimage They follow me around to see what I'm doing and steal my kneeling mat, or sit on the backs of my legs while I'm kneeling, or jump on my back and generally make their presence feltimage And there isalways one somewhere stretched out in the sun, or rolling in a flower bed  or that turns up just in time to walk into the picture, or walks out of it just as I press the shutter, leaving a tail behindimage

When I look back at older photos though, these unintended images remind me of old friends now gone and show the happy times we had together. Their presence lingers in the garden and most of them are buried here. I don't intend to leave myself, except in a box or until I'm so far gone I'll neither know nor care, so they'will always be with me. The hardest thing about leaving our previous houses was always leaving behind the memories of the pets who had shared them with us and I had few or no pictures of them in the pre-digital age. Just 36 exposures and a developing charge, photo's were carefully rationed!

    WOW x5!

How pretty are they? I'm beginning to think you people are knitting these beautiful creatures. Did you see Leadfarmer's boy on the ranters thread. We should have a companions corner thread.
