Yellow leaves on Daphne

turmericturmeric Posts: 828

Morning all, it's been a while since I've been on and it's all changed.  I don't like change - sorry.  I am of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".  But hey ho.  Anyway I was just wondering if anyone knew why my new little (12" high) Daphne is developing yellowing leaves which are falling off?  The soil is good, drainage good, full sun.  Any ideas anyone.  Many thanks. Ok how do I post this? Can't see a post button.

Hi there J&H ......we are all getting used to the new format ...it has pros and consimage.  Hopefully some more changes coming this week which will deal with some of the latter.

I have an old well established daphne that always has yellow dropping leaves at this time of year.  They are gradually being replaced by fresh new ones.  Although it is evergreen, it changes all its leaves at about this time.  Can you see new leaves coming?  In which case it is probably just going through the same "refresh" process.  If the yellow leaves are its only leaves, and there are no signs of new, then it might be another problem - maybe give it a feed with a seaweed tonic to see if it picks up.

Thanks chicky, yes it has plenty of green leaves too and new ones coming so I won't panic too much.  I didn't get a notification that you had responded so only just found your message by chance.  Is this one of the cons of the new layout? I don't like it.  I used to enjoy scrolling down the one liners reading the questions easily now it seems to be pretty backgrounds and fonts and very hard to find anything.  I feel as if I've lost contact with all the lovely people on here as I'm struggling to find things.  image  I can't even find my own posts easily and had to remember the time I put the post on and scroll through everything today just to find it!!

Hi J&H - email notifications are on the list of things to fix, as is the endless scrollng.  Some improvements were released today, and there are more to come, so bear with image. If you want a quick way of finding your own posts then click on your name at the top right hand side of the screen and you should get an option to view "my posts".  Good luck with your daphne tooimage

Sorry to say my Daphne of 6 years just died for no obvious reason  if there is one thing I have learnt in gardening its that some things just don't do what we want them to.  Two oleanders I thought goosed have made a comeback this year!

hang in with the site, things are improving
