Hanging baskets

I was wondering what plants you have all chosen for your hanging baskets this year?

I've gone with begonia illumination as most of my hanging baskets are in shade and trailing tomatoes for the sunny area.

They had a very good deal on for the begonias on at the garden centre and they were big healthy plants.

    Hi Lou12

My begonias are nowhere near ready to go out yet but that is what will be in my baskets this year. image

Hello Lou, (when can I come and see your garden?) I have grown begonias the last few years for a change, scented ones, yellow and orange.  Got some of the giant flower types this year but bought as plug plants.  I kept the corms a couple of years but they werent very good this year.  The rest of the baskets "usual" petunias, lobelia, bidens, verbena.  I got 3 baskets on Saturday (Aldi £3.99, most have 10 plants at least), 2 mauve busy lizzie and a mixed petunia, I cant re-produce them for that price!

Hi Lou12, I've got purple & white petunias, nepeta & a 'Carmel blue' fuchsia in two of mine and a couple of cascading tomato plants in another, although I won't hang them outside until the end of May.

    Hi

I have put trailing fushia this year in 2 of my baskets upon the recommendation of a very good friend  (my usual style is to have different plants in one basket) - have cream and blue violas in the wall planter along with trailing lobelia to hang down the front, final basket has geranium in the middle with trailing petunia.

have 2 stone pots that have trailing begonias in but they are only just coming through.image

looking forward to them all exploding with colour!
