I'm a divvil for leaving self-seeded plants to see what they develop into. But I'm learning that this often means that I repent at leisure - no that's wrong - I repent at weeding!
Can anyone identify this plant. Is it a type of willow herb?
It has reddish stems, but not the ones in the picture.
Thanks Chaps.
In London. Keen but lazy.

It's a salvia but for the life of me i can't remember it's name. Has purple flowers.
I'll let it stay then. Thanks Bushman.
Spreads like hell. Are the leaves hairy or downy?
No they're smooth. Perhaps I'd better pull it out. I never plant salvias as they're slug food so perhaps it's something else.
It doesn't look like a salvia to me but I haven't got a better suggestion

All I can see is herb Robert and a willowherb.
It is not any Salvia that I know.

I agree Dave ... and possibly some pulmonaria flower buds top left.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I thought it might be willowherb. I like herb Robert so I let it stay sometimes. There is indeed a pulmonaria in the corner and a young teasel at the top. I'm more of an umpire than a gardener
It could well be a willowherb but for the life of me i can't remember the name of the plant i thought it might be
Sorry not much help, i'm feeling like a bit of an old fart.
