  • I'd kill off the grass lawn, then scarify it up 2 weeks later hard before new sowing.

OR hire a turf cutter and do it the hard way

Apart from Yellow Rattle, scattering seed in grass is very unreliable

Is that true even when the grass has been heavily scarified and harrowed to leave about 50% bare soil?

I'm planning on doing this and have bought the appropriate grass and wildflower mix for my soil, but have been advised to sow even quantities of grass and flower seed.

How do you propogate wild flower seed? Are tray propogators with covers ok for this? I don't have a greenhouse and would have to leave the trays outside. Mind you, I want to do this with 65 meters square, which is a lot of plug plants to plant out.
