Can anyone help us identify this tree we inherited when we moved it has dark pink blossom in the spring the leaves then come but die we do have cold winds in the spring but it seems to have a disease white fluffy patches and sticky aphids and is full of wasps at the moment any ideas on what to do please.

It looks like a very dark red apple. Sometimes the flesh is red as well in old varieties such as Winesop, which is very pretty.
The white fluff is woolly aphids which are like grrenfly but they hide under the fluff so that they can't be seen. The wasps will be looking for aphids to eat. They are great predators of insects. As the fruit ripens they will, however, also be looking to share your apples with you.
Oh thank you very much the apples are always very small is it ornamental.
Probably a crab apple. Edible, probably good to make crab apple jelly with.
Not really relevant, but Winesop isn't red inside, Sops In Wine is.
