Welcome addition or weed?

I haven't posted for a while but not surprised to see a lot of ID requests a this time of the year.

Here's to a successful new growing season to all!

My ID request is for the plant in the picture with the spiky, lanceolate leaves. It's growing in a wildflower border among the ox-eye daisies, as well as in a few other places.

    I think it is dianthus barbatus [ sweet William ] as well.

    I've got lots of over-wintered ones this year and 2 flowers already

    Thanks everyone! Definitely sweet William as you say. I should have recognised that. There was some in that border last year that came from a box of 'wildflower' seed.
