You need to be on the Electoral Register https://www.gov.uk/electoral-register/view-electoral-register

And here is some fancy footwork that they did earlier. image

Can't see any objection to that Pansyface - it was done to prevent one person in a household registering and voting 'on behalf' of all the people in that household - it was alleged that this was sometimes the situation among ethnic minority families - this was electoral fraud.  Surely it's a good thing to prevent that happening?

I couldn't agree more, but for every plus there's a minus

Presumably that either means that there's 1m potential voters who's votes were being cast fraudulently, so at least that's been stopped; or there's 1m potential voters who can't be bothered to register in which case c'est la vie image

Not a lot we can do about that unless we go for compulsory voting.

Thank you all.   Of course I'm registered to vote, I just wondered if there would be a slightly different voting system for Brexit.   Iv read that the timing of the vote isn't good either.  Students will be away and believe it or not, Glastonbury was thrown into the mix.     I urge everyone who knows of a young person who has become eligible to vote and/or moved home to ensure they are registered properly.

Thanks again, some good reading in your links.  image

If students have got any sense image    they'll have organised themselves a postal vote, and the date has been known for ages so anyone planning to go to Glasto should have done the same.

I'm pretty sure Student Union Reps will be reminding their members to make sure they've done what is necessary.  image

We've a holiday booked in June so as soon as the date was announced I checked that it didn't coincide with our holiday, otherwise we'd have requested postal votes.
