A spiky plant for larvae to climb up

    Botumus umbellatus or acorus calamus

A bunch of starwort or elodea for oxygenation

Veronica beccabunga to trail around the edges

    And water forget me nots

Check out puddle plants online or visit your local maidenhead aquatics.
  • Ok Darren, are these native to UK?

Elodea - I don't know where that is from, but the others are native.

Elodea is from south america. But starwort (callitriche) is native and can perform the same role.
