twenty questions this one !!!!

Allium Schuburtii.

Is this the largest allium?

I've seen seeds for this on Amazon.  

Has anyone grown alliums from seed , I think it would take years for a flower, am I better going for the bulbs.?

But has anyone experienced growing from seed.?

    You'd be better going for bulbs. As you surmise, seeds could take years to produce flowers.

    Its not a tall plant but the flower heads are pretty large.

    I did a posting years back about growing Alliums etc. from seed. You really need fresh seed to be certain of germination and they take a few years to reach flowering size. Buy the bulbs and let them self seed, easiest way.

    Allium cuthbertii is probably as big too.
