Hose (under tap mud problem)

Hello, I am looking for a simply solution to a problem I have. At the moment under the hose gets very muddy from the tape which leaks a bit and no grass is growing here at all. Is there anything I can put there to make it look nicer ?

Or anything I can use to stop the hose tap leaking ?

You might simply need to renew the hose fittings Ben, they can wear out after prolonged use  - or it may be something as simpler as a washer needing replaced if it's the tap leaking rather than the hose.

I'd also recommend replacing the grass directly below your tap with a bit of paving or gravel to help with any leaks. No mess then! image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I have a similar problem where my waterbutt overflows. I did think of putting bog plants there until my OH pointed out it may be soaked now, but it'll be bone dry in a heat wave.

I've settled for an inch wide ditch of gravel with a paving slab out from the edge. This also gives me somewhere solid to put down watering cans. (And extra drainage from the sand base the slab is on.)

We have a square of 'pebbles'. Look very pretty when they get wet
