Sweet Peas
in Plants

Hi everyone again....Im so sorry always looking for answers....
I bought these sweetpeas in dobbin with the advice of buying sticks and wire to tie them on to. Having never done before just looking to see if the way i have done it looks ok?
Also should i feed them immediately - I was advised to mix in some of the granular feed when i planted them?

yes i took the picture friday when i planted them and it has been raining non stop here in paisley since then.....should i give them more water?
At work ill have a wee check when i get home - the seemed very delicate when i was tying them on - i was afraid i might damage them
I agree with hollie that they may be looking a shell shocked if they haven't been hardened off.
Do you know how high they will grow? ( I can't read the labels ) There are dwarf varieties but these could grow up to 6ft tall. The sticks you have may not be adequate support, some long bamboo canes and pea netting would be better. Don't use wire as it will damage the stems, if you feel you need to tie them in use garden twine.
There is a wonderful thread on here by David K full of great advice on sweet peas, I recommend you take a look.
Ah i will try find Davids post Kitty thank you - I thought it would be easier to tie to these little sticks until they grew on a bit - i have canes for later - the man in the gc suggested the wire - it is covered in plastic though....everything i buy keeps dying
