"Sunken" area of lawn
We had our lawn relaid 3 years ago and now a section of it, roughly 6' square has sunk by an inch or so. The ground was obviously not prepared properly, but as the person who did the work is no longer available I need to try to sort it myself. It's not practical to remove the turf to raise it, so would over-laying with repeated thin layers of soil work? I was thinking of maybe 1/4 inch at a time, waiting for the grass to grow through and repeating? I know I'll need to protect it from the local moggies.

That's a perfectly acceptable way of raising it KT or do it in one go and sow new grass seed on top. It'll all combine and settle in.
Combining is certainly going to be quicker. I've good plenty of good quality soil I can pinch from other areas. I'll give it a go.
