can I trim a small camellia which has gone a bit scraggy now

  • I pruned mine last year after watching someone on gardeners world explaining what to do and I have had a lovely display this year. image

Mine is perhaps 3m tall, and as wide. I pruned it heavily a few years ago. It loved it, came back really well.

  • Prune after flowering and before the next season's buds form. We have 4 very mature camellias (over 100 yrs. old) and they seem to thrive on a good pruning once in a while (like every 3rd or 4th year).
