What's this please?

I saw this growing happily under my beech hedge - it rings some bells and looks similar to something already asked to be ID'd, but I can't find the post.

Any suggestions please, and should I 'get rid'?

It is Wild Arum, [aka lords and ladies, Cuckoo pint] a wild flower. In some gardens it can be invasive, can you see if it is a problem in neighbouring gardens? If you don't want it simply dig it out.

Thanks very much. Just googled it and see it has over 150 names, more than any other plant in the English language. Most are bordering on the bawdy - gave me a laugh!
  • It is really rather a nice thing (apart from the opportunity it gives to tell visitors its various rude names)

When the flower comes you'll see why the names are bawdy ALimage

Just be careful it has spread everywhere in my garden and is spoiling my beds
