I don't put the radiators on just for seeds! They all germinate in their own time, no fuss gardening here
i have always used one of these, you can make though sands of pots and loads will sit in a seed tray, no root disturbance when you pot on or plants out.
It is Holly, you can use all your junk mail, or newspaper, make them very tall or just little pricking out pots, perfect little gift gadget, my daughter bought mine.

I would be interested to know for how many years you've been using that method Aym? I have found that Echinacea don't usually like being moved much after germination, so I would be interested in your method.

Some seeds last for years, my Roma tomatoes dated 1995 all germinated.

aym - are you use the water retaining crystals for your seedling ? If you are vermiculite would be better for seedling in my opinion.

My echinacea in the garden haven't made a start yet, but they will when it warms up a bit.
