Thank you, good to know
What bug? Why kill? Why tabasco "source"? Hot water is good for leaves? I only have dishwasher tablets - not liquid - how much please?
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
The hot water would surely damage the plant, never mind any insects...
I wipe off anything harmful with my hand, or a squirt of water from a hose or hand sprayer. The birds will eat greenfly pretty quickly too. No damage to any plants or beneficial insects that way
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Please be careful.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
This seems like a recipe, to damage plants, upset birds, and decimate our insect population. Don't think I will be trying it.

last year i had an infestation of black fly on my tomatoes, so i cut a load of leaves of the plant and steeped them in water for a couple of days and then strained the water through a cheese cloth (old tights till do!) into a spray bottle with some more water to dilute.
this worked a treat and the blackfly seemed to just turn into dead little statues! i just brushed them off and they didn't return. we got a really good crop after that so will be doing the same this year if they return!
the tabasco source is only a small part of this recipe and the only places in the garden I use it are in problem places when pests a rife.
but if you want to spend pounds on sprayers etc then go ahead. I'm only suggesting this recipe as it works for me.
It has never harmed my plants in any way
