Watering can issue....
Hello
just popped in from outside to ask if anyone has any tips on how to get rid of the green slime that builds up inside watering cans and then blocks the spout as it peels off? I cant get my hands in to scrub it off.
Thanks

Stick it upturned in a pot of spirit vinegar for an hour or so then rinse copiously.

And don't leave water in the watering cans then the slime won't build up.

Thanks. I'll do that this arvo.
Spirit vinegar - is that the same as white wine vinegar??
It would do the job but only if you're made of money - you can buy 5 litre cans of white vinegar (not white wine vinegar) for around £12 on Amazon. Use it for cleaning your windows, descaling your taps etc. Order something else for £8 and get free delivery.

Armillatox will clear most slime, from cans and paving, its all I use, but not on edibles.
You could try a couple of handfuls of horticultural grit and a small amount of water in the can. Swirl it around and it should remove the majority of the crud.
