? Wind rock damage to penstemons

Lyn BoorLyn Boor Posts: 8

I have several wind rocked penstemons, this happened overnight in November. Can I now prune them? If so, to what height and how much? Also, is it safe to prune English lavender now? Thank you.

If you are in the North Lyn, I would wait. Penstemons are not 100% reliably hardy. I wait till the end of March, before cutting back the old stems.

Verdun, I've penstemon in the tunnel which have really got into new growth. When is the earliest I can take cuttings before cutting them back?

Thank you so much everyone. We moved abroad 15 years ago and I have forgotten most of my garden knowledge since moving back to good old uk. Mostly trial and error now.

    Thanks Verdun.

Plenty of soft growth indeed. I'll get onto it on the first rainy day when I'm driven back indoors. Need to make the most of the dry days.
