Danes de feu climbing rose.

Hi all, I have a north east facing fence that I would like to grow a climbing rose up, after a bit of googling, I've decided on Danse de feu. Does anyone have any experience of it? Will it thrive in a shady spot? I intend buying it in the next week bare-root (unless advised not to) but should I incorporate fish blood and bonemeal into the planting hole? Or just bonemeal? Pat.

I don't have it now but I did a few gardens ago. A nice rose. No trouble. Give it as much tlc as you like and it will thank you for it. Time's getting on for bare root. I'd go for pot grown if you can.image

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
  • Many thanks pansyface, pot grown it is.
