Verdun there is about 15 to 20 stems on each one. They are to big to pull apart and may even be to big to cut with a knife I may have to cut them with a spade into four then try tidying them with a knife.

How would you split them? they are one big lump could I cut them into say 4 or would that make the other bit rot?
