dead-wisteria

Hello, I posted is my wisteria dead a month back........ how it was still dormant in july ......but since then yes it was dead the growth on the wisteria started to snap when i bent them so i cut them all back to the base of the wisteria (aboout 7 years old) .......but today i pulled the base of the wisteria and it basically just came away from the groun in my hand :0 ...................Heres a picture of my now dead wisteria .................... Does anybody know what has happened ................
