plant identification

Think it is a pot / house plant.   Imagine pot, soil & on top of soil a ? ( what) large coconut shape bean / seed lying on side & from one end stems grow up tall then form leaf.

Sounds like an avacado.  They can be grown as houseplants:

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Could be a coconut palm...........they were all the rage at one time.

Avocados are rarely sold as House Plants. They tend to grow up from the middle of the stone. The coconuts grow from one end.  A photo would soon sort it outimage

Yes, if it's coconut sized too, then good chance of that Philippa. image

Thank you all for your help.  I've just looked at a pic of coconut palm & it's the one. image Think it was the line  'they were all the rage at one time' that gave it away!
