Can you grow ivy from a cutting ?

Yes you can. It grows like a weed here, seeds itself and spreads. I'm constantly pulling it up. Why do you want cuttings?

Someone at my works wants ivy, and we have a big wall full of it, so I thought if I could take a cutting and put it in water, it may grow roots?

Ivy - first year it sleeps, second year it creeps, third year it leaps!

Might I suggest a variety with more interest than Common Ivy? It is easy to strike from cuttings.
