I took a cutting of this plant to the local garden centre, they said it was a Bottle Brush, it's nothing like the bottle brushes I saw in Australia when I lived there, also it has never had a brush on it.
Looks like a Callistemon to me Sizeyuk1, I used to have one till -17 degrees killed it off. Needs the sunniest hottest spot in the garden to flower well. Mine did really well and flowered its heart out for about 8 years until a hideously cold winter a few years ago.
