Iris

B3B3 Posts: 26,432

I bought some mis-labelled bulbs last year and they turned out to be iris. (thought they were tulips)

They've come up again this year but the leaves are about 3ft+  long and flopping all over the place. Can i trim them or remove them?

They did ok last year but I'm not really keen on them. If I can tidy them up a bit, I might let them survive.

In London. Keen but lazy.

The leaves are the power house of the plant. If you trim them off the plant will not be able to flourish as much as if you left them alone. Year by year the plants will lose strength.

if you're not keen, get rid. I'm not a fan of carrying passengers in the garden.
