Daffodils advice

I'm a really novice gardener. House owner for two years and have only ever cut the grass and grown rosemary. Thoguth i'd try and add some colour to the garden and plant some Daffodils

Recently bought some dwarf Narcissus 'Tête á Tête' bulbs and planted them in September taking the advice and planting the bulbs 10cm apart. They are now coming up and flowering (iIve managed to work out this is early due the the mild conditions) but there only seems to be one flower from each bulb planted. Is this correct. Whenever i see pictures of this variety there always seems to be 3/4 flowers from each bulb. Have I planted them too far apart? Should I have put 3 or 4 bulbs into each hole?

    That's what they do SS.

Here, especially after the first year, they're just the one tete.

Where did you get the circumflex on the e? I've never manage to find any accents to use on foreign words.

As Nut says, that's what they do in the first year - then the bulbs will multiply and you'll get more flowers next spring, especially if you take the seedheads off when the flowers die off.

Nut, you won't have to bother about the circumflex any more - I'm going to miss it tho image

the Pedant in me wants to point out it should be a grave accent over the a , not an acute.

Nut, you can get an acute accent for words like café by holding the "AltGr" key whilst you type e.

No idea about getting any others though.

SS no worries about the bulbs. It's a really reliable variety and it'll settle down and flower wonderfully for years to come.

  • Nut, try looking at your Keyboard Viewer, it should show you which key combos to use to get various things, including accents.

  • Excellent. thank you all for responding.

I look forward to some impressive displays in the years to come. As for the accent, i copied and pasted from Thompson and Morgans website image

    Bronchitikat, what's a keyboard viewer?

    Do Samsung netbooks have those?

SS, yes I've done that in the past, even set up a Word doc then cut and pasted.

é  Hosta, that's great thank you. I have a granddaughter with one of those in her name.

Nut I remember my nephew telling me  they'd decided to call their new daughter Chloe/ Chloé

I asked if that would be with, or without the acute accent.

" I'll ask Bianca, ( his wife )" he said.

    " Correct answer" I said
