More plant ID's please!

Hi

discovered a couple more things lurking under brambles. What are they, please?

1) quite low, poking out from under brambles at about 1ft high (but might want to be higher/bigger)

2) Just a single branch poking out from a bramble patch. This has spikes about 1cm long on the stems, and quite leathery leaves

Thanks!

Second one is a gooseberry. Watch out for babies nearby.image

  • image Waterbutts! Will be very careful when clearing that area in case I find any babies!

But seriously, definitely looks like I'll have to be careful when sorting that corner then - it's just to the left of the tayberry I discovered so was obviously originally planned to be a "fruit corner" (perhaps I'll find a yoghurt plant too? image)

Any thoughts on plant 1, anyone?

First one could be Choisya if it is should have strong orangey smell if you crush a leaf.

I don't think the leaf arrangement is right for a choisya. But I haven't got a better suggestion. But might be an acid lover

    1 looks a bit like a Pieris.

How can you lie there and think of England
