Non flowering Iris

Does anyone know why my Burgendy/orange Iris did not flower this year.  It flowered well last year and the other Iris in my garden have flowered well this year.  The leaves look strong and healthy.  I fed it in the Spring.   Any ideas please.

Did the rhizomes get enough of a baking!  Have they been shaded by other plants growing up around them?

They have to be in very dry conditions and rhizomes above the soil ,they also have to cut back and divide every 3 years although some people do this every year.

I had a whole patch that did not flower this year, when they have in previous years.  I put it down to the fact that we didn't get a summer last year, so no baking for the rhizomes.  Have high hopes for a bumper crop of flowers next year after the last fortnightimage
