Last plot help please

I appreciate I've posted 3 threads already but I thought that would be easier than asking for help on all plots in 1 thread!  This is the last one (for now!!)

This is a small bit under a new window we've added in the dining room.  It's west facing with any shade this time of year coming from the fruit trees on the south side of the garden.  It used to have a large plant in it but we chopped it down to add the window.  I don't want anything to grow beyond the window sill but it needs to be a bit pretty as the patio is currently concrete and VERY ugly!

This photo is taken from above from inside the window.  There are already some plants starting to grow but I don't know what they are.

I'm thinking crocus for winter colour,Anemone blanda for spring colour and a weigela as a central plant.

Liz, ID what you have first, take pics and post them, they'll be ID'd in a day or so.

  • Ok. Thanks. Will pop out now and add the pics to this thread!

You're right on the last two, although which variety they are you'll have to wait for the flowers. You may be right with the campanula, close ups are better on here. The other one could be either agapanthus or bluebell. For plant ID's on the forum, its best to title the thread as an I'd then get good close up pics and number them for reference. You can then go back and check your posts if you forget them. You may want to check how deep the soil is in that bed before considering any shrub going in there, and weigela can get to about 8ft depending on variety.

  • Amazing. Thank you. And 8ft is far too high. I shall go and research this eve!
  • scented roses under windows always for me
