what's my plant?
I have a herbaceous thistle like plant, about 6 feet tall with perfectly round , blue flowers. In flower now + covered with bees. Can anyone tell me what it is? It's reminicient of a sea holly but doesn't have the leafy bit immediately behind the flower. Very tough woody stems.

It does sound like an Eryngium but there are a lot of forms - a photo would help if you can manage it?
