ceanothus removal

cairnsiecairnsie Posts: 388

I have dug 4 evergreen ceanothus up from my front garden. I Removed the main root ball which was a difficult job but there was still deep long roots that i couldnt fully remove. My question is will it come back. I am turfing over the top of this and to be quite honest it would be impossible from me to get much more of the root out. The reason i dug them out is that i live in a newbuild house and they planted by the builders but they were overgrown with weeds that i could not fully remove and they looked tatty.

I don't know of ceanothus being that vigorous - even if they do come back i think a couple of lawn mowings would see them off.

We did not inherit the earth from our grandparents.  We’re borrowing it from our children.
