Hi all just talking to one of our allotmenteers who informs me that Gersey Royals are available in Blighty but under another name but he doesnt know the name . So Anybody got any info on G Royals here please .

    . It can only be sold as Jersey royals if it is grown on Jersey.

    Nice one Fidge and a J not a G i notice ,sorry about that,rubbish at spelling also he tells me "dont leave em in till the flowers are done as the spuds are too big", he ups them just when the flowers start when they are the right size to get the good taste so he says, International Kidney it is next year ,many ofem , Alan

    to get that real taste of jersey royals you need their soil and feed them with seaweed.

    It's not a mess, it's a nature reserve.

    Jersey soil is very sandy and free draining so if you have a heavy clay soil results will not be the same. Also the climate is generally quite different to UK mainland, overall warmer & milder. Plenty of seaweed available at source too.
