Apple rootstocks

i have been researching about apple rootstocks on m9 and m27 as i wouuld like to plant some along the edge of my allotment, i have read allot of pros for the m27 can grow in smaller space and grow more variaties and the m9 gets seems popular but im really not sure what rootstock to choose any advice please...

    I'd tell your suppliers about what you want the trees to do and about the soil type and the situation and be guided by them.  They know their stock.  And at least if it all goes pear-shaped image you'll have taken their advice and may have some come-back.

    If you haven't chosen a supplier yet, have a look at this site - I've bought several fruit trees and bushes from them over the last couple of years and have been very impressed - the proprietor is also very happy to answer email queries. 

    Gardening is cheaper than therapy, and you get tomatoes.

    I agree with dovefromabove. So many things to consider - are you going to grow bush or cordon etc. How fertile is the soil and so on.
