Hand Tamper or Plate Vibrator?

Hi there!

I am new to gardening and am hoping someone out there can help me please!!!

I am laying down 4 90cmx90cm deck patio tiles. Will hand tamping the sand base be good enough or will it need a plate vibrator? It is only 35 sq ft. in total but will have a table and 4 chairs on it. Any help woould be immensely appreciated!

I don't think those are meant to be laid on the ground. They should be mounted on a frame. Check out the ready made frames on their website.

Thanks Steephill. I thought that but the product is described as including integral bearers to improve overall load capacity. Also, other websites selling them state they can be laid directly onto grass or paving/concrete: -
