Has anyone else had problems with their beans?- i started 1st lot of runners and french in the greenhouse total rubbish .Nothing seemed to germinate in May so let it a few weeks tried again sowing outdoors direct into soil middle of June- pleanty of slug pellets etc down so now I have 4 runners out of 20 and NO french beans -seed was bought last year and kept at afairly constant temp indoors and was pretty prolific. Where have I gone wrong? And is it worth trying to grow more now?

    Had a problem with mine too (lack of germination), turned out to be a bad batch of seeds. The replacement packet has given me enough plants to see me through though

    Too late for runner bean sowing -french mature a lot quicker and you can still sow nowimage

    Agree with LG.you will get a few beans from your four runners,dump the rest of the seed if any left and get some new French beans asap..
