Talkback: Transplanting shrubs

IN MY ALLOTMENT THERE IS A BORDER THAT GOSE ALLAROUND THE ALLOTMENT AND THE GIRLS THAT RUN IT PUT IN A LOAD OF SHRUBS THAT THEY GOT FROM A GARDEN CENTRE BUT THEY NEVER TENDED TO THEM AND THE WEEDS TOOK OVER AND THEY NEVER GOT GOING SO I TOOK CUTINGS FROM THEM AND THE ONES THAT ARE SUFERING I TOOK OUT AND POTED THEM UP AND PRUND THEM AND THEN GUST HOPE THAT THEY WOOD CUME BACK IT MUST HAVE COST THEM A LOAD OF MONEY IT IS VERY SAD THAT THIS AS HAPEND IT COULD BE SPENT ON BETTER THINGS

  • All the garden books, advice sites say shrubs should be transplanted in Autumn or Winter. I have moved loads of shrubs around in Spring and Summer (never in winter) and not lost one yet! Why dont they tell people this when they ask?
