Please can anyone identify this Sit is growing through odd leaves on a dog rose. I have never seen anything like it before. It is bright red.
It's a gall (rose bedeguar gall, aka Robin's pincushions) caused by the Rose gall wasp (Diplolepis rosae) and found on wild dog roses. Pretty isn't it!
Robins pincushion gall caused by damage to the leaf by a gall wasp. Common on dog roses.
