New turf/grass problem

Hi Guys
I really hope someone can help me out 
Two months ago we layed new grass turf in the garden. We bought it in 1 sq m pieces, got 1 tonn of soil, mixed it with some bonemill feeder and planted grass on top. Kept watering it every day for a while - so did everything what we believe should have done
Unfortunately it didn't really work and my garden looks really bad now. It has some green grass patches, some yellow grass patches and some patches with no grass at all, just a soil
Please let us know what is the cause for such a terrible state of it and also what do we need to do to sort it out?

I'd start watering it again, you may have stopped too soon. The bare patches should knit up and the yellow will return to green.
It would be my first port of call.
