Anyone got a clue what these bulbs are?

    I don't recognise those but they're not bulbs.



    In the sticks near Peterborough
  • Possibly bearded iris rhizomes or something similar ...   ?

    They look a bit dark and wrong for bearded iris but I have no better suggestionimage

    Doesn't look like Iris to me - but it looks more like something I wouldn't want, if I'm honest...image

    Were they buried or lying flat on the surface.? The shoot looks a bit like Hedychium  but mine still have leaves and are dying down at the moment.

    What did the leaves and/or flowers look like?

    I think they could be Jerusalem artichokes. What do they smell like?
