Flowers look like a pineaple and it smells like one
in Plants
I have just returned from Walton on naze and saw this shrub growing on a caravan site. The flowers are groups of small wisteria looking yellow flowers which look like small pineapples and it has a sweet pineapple smell. The leaves are hairy and silvery green on individual stems growing from new growth so not woody but has some older woody stems. The shrubs were aprox 2-3 metres high.Does anyone know what this plant is.the leaves grow in groups of 3 on a stem and are oval in shape aprox 7 centimetres long but vary.

Oops definitely not a honeysuckle I Habe a picture but don't know how to upload it on this forum as I am new to this site.
Thankyou Sarah 4 for the link and yes that is definitely the plant I saw.I was thinking of buying one for my Garden but reading the info on it it would seem to be a fast growing shrub which may overtake the posisiton I had in mind.Really good info so thanks.Pineapple Broom.very appropriate.

No, it's not a thug at all, it's a really lovely plant, quite easy to contain within it's space - go one, get one
Our local pub has one trained against a fence in the garden - sitting out there on a warm summer afternoon with a glass of something cool, listening to the bees buzzing and smelling the scent of pineapple - heaven
