Rose bush failing

Inexperienced gardener alert!
I planted a couple of rose bushes in my garden amongst other plants approx 2 months ago.
One of the rose bushes has produced beautiful flowers...however for some reason they seem to only flower for approx 2/3 days and then begn to wilt and die.
This seems to be a trend with some of the other plants also.
Does anyone know why this might be?

That's what flowers do CStuart, but hopefully as the first flowers die more buds will bloom to take their place
Flowers are only there to attract insect to pollinate them so that they can produce seeds to produce the next generation of plants.
I am very new to gardening myself but I know that roses are very thursty so water well and also they need feeding during the growing season. Could it b
e as simple as that? Im just wobdering if your soil is lacking nutrients roses need.

hello, if you've only recently planted out the roses, you'll need to keep them well watered until they're well established. give them a good soaking either first thing in the morning, or late evening (especially now the weather has turned hot).
they also like lots of manure (well rotted) around the base of the trunk.
if you dead-head the flowers, they'll keep producing more blooms right through the summer until the autumn/winter.

My garden is on a relatively new estate and the soil isnt great quality (quite clay like!). I used plenty of compost when planting but I wonder if the lack of nutrents is causing the problem. As they have been watered rather well and I have been using plant feed. If thats the case I'm not sure what the solution is - dig up the whole bed and replace with topsoil?? then replant??
-no plants seem to be flourishing there!
as for dead head'ing - should i just chop it right at the very end of the 'branch'?
What's the foliage like?
