I'm not overly knowledgable about gardening but keen to learn and would like to identify some of the plants in my new garden. Can anyone please tell me what this is (the bee's love them) .Thank you.
Could be some type of honeywort, which the bees love btw.
Caper spurge. Euphorbia lathyris.
As with all euphorbias, the milky sap will photosensitise the skin. Sap plus sun equals nasty burn. Best to use gloves when handling/removing.
Oh dear that doesn't sound good. I have a Cairn Terrier that is into everything, looks like I need to get them out. thankyou for the feedback.
I knew it was some type of wort Shame about the sap if the bees love them but it doesn't sound too good.
But you've only got to be a careful not to get the sap on your skin. You only do that by cutting into it. It's not a triffid, it doesn't attack.
I agrre - a eurphorbia lathyris - best planted at the back of a bed, as they will then grow up to 10-12 feet, and when the seed head bursts they make a wonderfull popping sound but can be prolific self seeders, but i love them.
