Oh you just made me think of a lovely double perennial poppy Firecracker that performs brilliantly every year, if deadheaded its just goes on and on, Papaver Rupifragum 'Double Tangerine Gem',well worth growing, even better my seeds were free in a mag many years agoimage

  • My current 'favs' have to be headed by Clematis "Freckles" - it's just coming into flower ready for winter! Early season here is dominated by the heleborines that nestle around the sunny sidewall of the greenhouse, whilst mid - late season sees the multi-headed asiatic lilies and the big blousy 'mophead' hydrangeas coming to the fore.

I love those little violets that pop up in my 'lawn'. I also like daisies, scarlet pimpernel , purple toadflax, centaureas and other  many other weedy things .

    In London. Keen but lazy.
