Plum tree problem

My plumb tree seems to have a disease that i can't seem to diagnose. On all the newly grown stems there are tiny, raised, circular lumps which dip in the middle. Could it be something to do with the aphids that i have just got rid of which were curling the leaves? They seem to appear in twos either side the base of the leaves. I have been on every website i know to try and find out what this is but no luck as yet.

Could you post a picture as it may help?

  • This is the best photo i could get with my pixely challenged camera.

If you mean those tiny blobs on the leaf stem, my guess would be they are a reaction from the tree where an aphid has pierced the stem and has been sucking the sap.  As you have managed to get rid of the aphids I think the tree will be fine now.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Thanks very much, I am a little over protective of this plum tree as it is my hubbys and he would be so gutted if anything really bad happened to it.
